Configuring AutoInstall SSL for Automatic SSL Certificate Renewals
-
By default, AutoInstall SSL is configured to fully automate the SSL certificate lifecycle, including certificate renewals, updates, and re-installations. This helps ensure that your SSL certificates remain valid and do not expire unexpectedly.

AutoInstall SSL will automatically issue and install a replacement certificate in the following situations:
- The current certificate is 28 days away from its expiration date.
- The certificate authority schedules your certificate for revocation (a rare occurrence).
You can adjust the number of days before expiration that AutoInstall SSL replaces a certificate by modifying the AutoInstall SSL configuration settings:
- Connect to your server with administrator or root privileges.
- Open the AutoInstall SSL agent:
- Linux: Run sudo runautoinstallssl.sh
- Windows: Run AutoInstallSSL.exe
- Select 4. Settings & Credentials.
- Select Manage configuration.
- Locate the Renewal Days setting.
- Change the default value of 28 to your preferred number of days and save the configuration.
AutoInstall SSL will use the updated value when determining when to issue and install a replacement certificate.

Please note
- If you have purchased a multi-year SSL certificate, AutoInstall SSL will automatically reissue and update the certificate each year to maintain continuous validity.
- Make sure the Automatic Renewal option remains enabled for your SSL certificate order. This allows the order to renew approximately 30 days before expiration. AutoInstall SSL will then automatically issue and install the renewed certificate shortly afterward.
- If AutoInstall SSL detects an issue that could prevent the replacement of an expiring certificate, for example, if an SSL order fails to renew because of an expired payment method, GoGetSSL will send an email notification so that corrective action can be taken.
